About the event
From the late 1940s through the 1970s, Playland Park was a summertime destination for families across the region. Visitors came to experience thrilling rides, exciting stock car races, and the iconic roller coaster that stretched nearly three blocks and even crossed over two city streets alongside one of Council Bluffs’ busiest thoroughfares.
Whether you have fond memories of spending summer days at Playland Park and Speedway or are discovering its history for the first time, Memories of Summer Daze offers a unique opportunity to celebrate an important piece of Council Bluffs history while creating new memories with family and friends.
